Identity – I Know Who I Am

When Jesus asked the disciples who they thought he was, and Peter responded, he was the messiah son of the living God, Do you think Jesus ran on that revelation by Peter? Oh no! instead Jesus ran; lived his life on the revelation he had about who He was. Meaning he knew who he was before Peter spoke. Peter got it right; but Jesus already knew who he was, that’s why he stated

John 10:10b

I came that you may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)

Again, Revelation 4:11 says

You are worthy, o Lord to receive glory, honor, and power; For You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.

So if all things are created by God; meaning you are created by Him for his pleasure; it should therefore come as no surprise that to understand who we are? we need to go to the one who created us. What does he say about us. A wise man once said that if the purpose of a thing isn’t known abuse is inevitable. Likewise, if we don’t know what God the one who created all things says about you then you are going to believe what people say.

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

This is who and what God calls you, you are royalty, you are chosen, you are desired, you are preferred. Yes I know people around you might not agree with this, but that’s okay, in the scriptures something similar happened. The people actually wanted to stone Jesus, and get this, they were people of his community. People he knew, and they knew him very well too, probably neighbors’ coworkers, members of his extended family. People that were not really strangers to him yet they disagreed with who he said he was so strongly that they wanted to stone him. He asked them for which of the things he’d done was he going to be stoned for? The reply was oh it’s not because of the good works that you’ve done that we are stoning you but it’s because you’ve have dared to liken yourself to God, because you have dared to say God is your father.

Psalm 12:6 amp.’ I said, “You are [a]gods; Indeed, all of you are sons of the Most High.

And yet the scriptures tells you very clearly you are. This was the same thing that Jesus told the people contesting his claim. He asked them that didn’t the scriptures say this about us? That we are sons was this scripture not in their bible? The young of a cow is called a calf but is it not a cow? The young of a dog is called a puppy, but was it any less a dog? Jesus took a stand and he refused to say anything other than what the scripture said about him. Whose report will you believe? I believe the report of the Lord, I believe what He says about me.

I am a chosen generation, I am a royal priesthood, (meaning that I am royalty) I am a holy nation, I am God’s special possession, created for and by His pleasure, to declare the praises of Him, in all that I do. I am god like my father is God. I’m the finest, a masterpiece, an original; there is no-one like me…..I am God’s symphony, a vessel unto honor fit for the Master’s use, giving glory to the Father always.

This is what he says about me this is the report I chose to believe! I am who he says I am… Hey!!! don’t get mad at me , you say who you are….affirm it every day girl.
